General Motors shot themselves in the foot in the early 1970s by incorporating “planned obsolescence” into their cars. The quality of cars including Cadillacs suffered. Things went from bad to worse in the 1980s when Roger Smith was in charge and cost cutting ruled the day resulting in a lot of ugly, junky cars. They finally started to get their shit together but it was too late. They had pushed customers to Japan and German built brands. Too bad because Cadillacs had been flying high for decades. They’ve been trying to win those customers back ever since.

This Ecoboost 2.0 is recently showing up as a swap into rwd fox body cars. Wow! More horsepower than the 5.0 v8 came with in the early 90's.

I’m between this and the focus. Def the fiesta is small for me, so I’m leaning to focus but it seems like the focus is more prone to transmission problems unfortunately. I have a 2011 ford escape and I’ve loved it! Been solid for years minus the dreaded halfshaft transaxle leak which cost over a grand to fix. But other than that it’s been solid af! The focus supposedly only gets a bit worse but not sure how true that is. I’m def not a fan of this driving position. Seems far away from the windshield almost space ship like, as the old civics were which I hate. I want something to commute and road trip with

A Lamborghini it's not, but my 200S is sporty enough for me. It's nice to have a hardtop convertible, and it doesn't need premium gas which is a plus. Manual shifting is fun too!

The automatic is about $1000. it's all the other things, like PW/ PDL/AC etc, that jacks up the price.

gorgeous. I have a photo series of this very car and it is spectacular. This, along with any 57-58 Eldo Brougham, are my fav Cadillacs and everything a Cadillac represents. However, another example of 'what do you do with' great art produced by bad people...the Windsors were sybaritic nazi sympathizers...England was very lucky to have avoided Edward in power during WWII. Probably most Merc 600's have a dark back story too.

Before watching this a few minutes ago I just thought it was a regular 60 Special, but closer inspection does show unique bodywork. Thanks for sharing!

mind boggling to say the least, and on one of my favorite vehicles. as i watched and listened the concept reminded me of the 50s era Citroën DS , hydraulic fluid was contained and pumped through the tubing chassis and operated the suspension system, the power steering and brakes.
